This study revealed how Huangqin Qingre Chubi Capsule (a traditional Chinese herbal compound) inhibits synovial inflammation by suppressing the JAK/STAT signaling pathway — the same target as modern RA drugs (baricitinib, tofacitinib).
Targeting the same pathway as modern biologics is notable. In cell experiments, the capsule inhibited pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-6, TNF-α) and reduced synovial cell hyperproliferation.
